CenturyLink's internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Strategic Planning and Transformation group will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active CenturyLink work projects. Interns support development projects within the Billing Applications development team and will take place in Broomfield, CO. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. JOB DESCRIPTION

• Support areas such as billing, discounting, taxation, invoice creation, and customer reporting of the CenturyLink Enterprise customer base.
• Work with Billing Architects building out the test suites with Spark/Scala applications.
• Work on converting reports to Scala and depending on skill set, performing Angular development to convert existing UIs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Junior or Senior status by start of internship.
• Pursing a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related degree program such as CIS or Computer Science.
• Currently enrolled at a 4-year accredited College or University at time of internship.
• 3.0 or above cumulative GPA.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of software development methodologies, standards and coding best practices.
• Experience with Applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Microsoft SharePoint.
• Experience with various development languages including but not limited to: C#, Java, C , Spark, Scala, Angular, HTML, CSS, SQL, XML.
• Experience with various database management packages including but not limited to: MSSQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB.
• Experience with various Operating Systems including but not limited to: Windows 7, UNIX, LINUX.
• Experience with Cloud Computing including but not limited to: Azure, AWS.
• Previous internship/work experience within the IT field.
• Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
• Highly motivated, organized, reliable and detail oriented.
• Capable of multi-tasking efficiently.
• Quick learner and not afraid to work with new technology.
• Professional attitude.
