JOB SUMMARY

CenturyLink's internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Global Network and Security group will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active CenturyLink work projects. The intern will be part of the Data Strategy and Development team, located in Framingham, MA working to support the development of SDN NFVi Infrastructure solutions. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. JOB DESCRIPTION

• Support the development of SDN NFVI infrastructure solutions.
• Work on a small team, implementation Agile work methodologies.
• Support our newer application for financial reporting.
• Work on and with open source software intended to configure, monitor and manage virtualized network functions running on a variety of platforms.
• Work with server side javascript, node-red, java, ant to develop, built, test, and integrate new software microservices.

Minimum Requirements:

• Classification: Senior status by start of internship.
• Pursing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an IT-related degree program such as CIS, Computer Science or Engineering.
• Currently enrolled at a 4-year accredited College or University at time of internship.
• 3.0 or above cumulative GPA.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of software development methodologies, standards and coding best practices.
• Experience with various development languages including but not limited to Java, Javascript, React, Docker.
• Experience with various database management packages including but not limited to: PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Operating Systems including but not limited to: LINUS.
• Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
• Highly motivated, organized, reliable and detail oriented.
• Capable of multi-tasking efficiently.
• Quick learner and not afraid to work with new technology.
• Professional attitude.
