    JOB SUMMARY

    CenturyLink's internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Strategic Planning and Transformation group is responsible for the creation of fulfillment workflows that can be invoked to orchestrate the activities that need to be performed between these domains regardless of the legacy affiliate that implemented the underlying system. An intern working in this space the individual will gain the experience of learning the full software development life cycle. This internship will take place in Littleton, CO. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns.     JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Involvement in the process of requirement gathering, solution design, code implementation, and unit testing.
    • We have several strategic efforts under way to further automate our end to end flows and reduce systems and people involved in integration of the solution.
    • Capability to quickly come up to speed on the environments, systems, problems and opportunities.
    • Help coordinate design discussions between the business users, IT architecture and software development.
    • Assist in the analysis of data to make decisions on design directions and priority for improvements.
  • Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Pursing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, networking or security domain.
    • Currently enrolled at a 4-year accredited College or University at time of internship.
    • 3.0 or above cumulative GPA.
    • The ideal candidate would have a background / course experience in both system engineering and business process development.
    • CenturyLink operates an Agile development environment and knowledge of scrum processes and ceremonies would be helpful.
    • Exposure to database persistence layers such as MONGO or ORACLE.
    • Experience with server-side development solutions.
    • Knowledge of NODEJS, Angular or BootStrap, and UNIX is a preferred mix of skills.
    • Experience working with offshore development and/or knowledge of the challenges & opportunities associated with cross time zone development would be a plus.

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelors or Equivalent
    • Masters or Equivalent
