JOB SUMMARY

CenturyLink's internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Brand, Creative, and CX department will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active CenturyLink work projects. The CenturyLink Enterprise UX Design team designs compelling and intuitive experiences for our customers across mobile and desktop applications by building a deep understanding of our users' needs and collaborating with business stakeholders to create engaging digital interactions that bring our products to life. The internship will take place in Broomfield, CO. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. JOB DESCRIPTION

• Responsible for designing a new feature for our customer portal.
• Build an understanding of customer needs and business requirements.
• Create wireframes and a clickable prototype, then test with users and refine your design based on customer and stakeholder feedback.
• Work closely with other designers on the team to ensure a seamless experience across our digital portfolio.

Minimum Requirements:

• Pursuing a B.S., M.S., or PhD. degree in design-related discipline (Graphic Design, Human Factors, etc.)
• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university; junior or senior year at the start of the internship (graduating after August 2020).
• Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher
• Must have transportation to/from work daily.
• Ability to solve complex design issues in a team environment
• Interaction design experience creating effective user interfaces
• Wireframing and prototyping using design-oriented tools
• Knowledge of modern design technologies and patterns, including responsive design
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience conducting user research & usability testing
• Visual design skills
• Task analysis experience, including translating user tasks into design requirements
• Experience creating accessible (Section 508) designs
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS
