THE ROLE This position will be responsible for the end to end service delivery/provisioning process for DIA services including Solution Review, Access Design, IP Build/implementation of services at layer 1, 2, and 3, and testing of layer 1, 2, and 3. Services include, but are not limited to, private line services; Ethernet, Internet. Responsibilities will also include product and systems knowledge related to the activated services, technical validations, pre-testing, troubleshooting, activation, and post activation with customers. Position located in Broomfield, CO; Littleton, CO; Tulsa, OK THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES •Provides complex conceptual and tactical solutions to customers networking requirements. •Knowledgeable and Proficient in complex provisioning requirements •Working knowledge of equipment elements and solutions across switched and special access, ethernet access, Internet solutions, MPLS solutions, local loop, and long-haul transport in network. •Demonstrate ability to efficiently and accurately process and manage Design & Access Service Requests for multiple Lumen products or access provider(s) •Optimize existing designs by demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. •Assigns, configures, and/or decommissions IP resources for the services required by customers, specified in the engineering. Closes tasks related with the request. •Interpret Network/Circuit Design (LAN, WAN and ISP) and troubleshoot/resolve issues •Implementation of Circuits: DS1, DS3, Optical, Ethernet, and DWDM •Configure Customer Provided Equipment (CPE) Routers and Switches •Configure/Implement metro gear/equipment -Lucent/Fujitsu/Cienna/Alcatel/Cisco/ADVA/Accedian •Proficient knowledge of Open Systems Intercommunication model, working knowledge of TDM, Ethernet, MPLS, Internet Protocol, and Classless Inter-domain Routing (CIDR) •Review, Design, Implement, and Test solutions containing the following: Routing Protocols and Hardware Platforms to include BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, IP Routing, Cisco, IPv4, IPv6, Dual Stack IPv4/IPv6 •Review, Design, Implement, and Test solutions using Layer 2 and 3 Hardware and Software plus Cisco IOS, ATM, Frame-Relay, Juniper, Juno OS, DNS, Radius and UNIX •Engage industry standard entities as needed, example: ARIN/RIPE •Perform other duties as assigned. •Work cross functionally to implement process changes. •Provide technical support to internal and external customers for engineering, installation, and testing of all transport facilities and special and switched access circuits. •Maintain and support the network infrastructure. •Update all systems and databases with careful attention to detail. •Provide accurate and consistent internal and external customer communication during established intervals using phone, email, and ticketing notes. •Mentor, Train and develop skillset of peers pertaining to end to end provisioning, including but not limited to, process, solution review, design, build and activation, through the creation of job aids and training documents. BEHAVIORS •Manages a work queue of provisioning orders, meets metric performance for all tasks, and completes designs/configurations on-time and with accuracy. •Demonstrate a consistent, elevated level of performance as measured by SLAs, M&Ps / SOPs, On-Time Performance and quality standards, and individual objectives •Excel at managing the assigned queue using time management skills •Provide technical support for internal and external teams. •Identify and champion resolution for process issues. Work cross-functionally to implement process changes. •Provide input into appropriate training and documentation around departmental processes. •Drive completion of all customer and network orders. •Assist other departments or work groups, providing requested support, as necessary. •Properly prioritize tasks, orders, and assignments. •Complete activations for external customers. •Partner with the applicable departments to trouble shoot activations for Customer Care Managers, Account teams and Field Ops •Develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders to understand evolving issues and requirements, understand upstream and downstream implications and dependencies, ensuring key solutions are executed and properly coordinated. •Maintain a commitment to safe practices and hold others equally accountable. •Complete designated amount of work in a specified timeframe with a high degree of quality. •Efficiently and accurately work with multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
