Your Role and Responsibilities

Start and end dates for this position are Q2 2021 (3 months).

• Your role would include leveraging the IBM Hardware Design Specifications, Software Low Level Designs, and other assets to create engaging, and mission critical content for our customers such as; social content including blogging, system configuration/installation instructions, failed hardware/parts remove and replace instructions, Software product commands and user guides, product guides, and more. We support everything from Hardware installation and maintenance procedures to IBM Power Virtual Server and Google Cloud implementation, usage, help text, and more.
• People are bombarded and disrupted by over 14,000 messages a day. The world doesn't need more content; it needs better content. We're looking for people interested in working on the highest quality documentation, processes and systems.

What You'll Do:

• Design, Create and maintain written and graphical content to assist IBM customers and Service representatives manage complicated Hardware configurations.
• Work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand and develop solutions for requirements. This includes designing, writing, and testing innovative content using DITA, Computer Aided Desgin Software such as Solidworks.

Who You Are:

• You are great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.
• You thrive on collaboration, working side by side with hardware engineers and software developers and scientists of all backgrounds and disciplines, and you have very strong verbal and written communication skills.
• You have some awareness of knowledge representation and reasoning.
• You have a basic understanding of software development and hardware configurations along with knowledge of content markup languages such as HTML or DITA.
• You have an interest in, understanding of, or experience with Design Thinking Methodology and Agile Development Methodology.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Basic knowledge in markup languages such as HTML or DITA.
• Basic knowledge of software engineering practices including Agile processes
• Basic knowledge in computer hardware parts and configurations

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Ability to learn and teach complex ideas quickly, accurately, and effectively
• Excellent communication skills and ability to overcome concerns within a timely manner.
• Understand user experience and user accessibility principles;
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, and
• Responsible for accuracy of content and adherence to established standards
