THE ROLE

LUMEN’S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IS A PATH FOR CAREER READINESS IN THE 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.

Be a part of an internship program, driving human progress through technology.  During a 10- week period our summer interns innovate and make an impact by transforming industries across the globe and changing the world one connection at a time.  Our interns are presented with real business challenges and provide solutions that make a difference across all areas of the company, all while learning the skills needed to successfully navigate the modern workplace.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Analyst in our North America Operations organization, the Intern will work collaboratively with our network implementation fiber build team to conduct exploratory analytics related to the fiber build plan. Tasks during the 10 weeks will focus on data analytics research to engineer and construct fiber to support Quantum fiber network expansion. Data Analyst interns will have the potential to learn various components of engineering, construction, systems and customer. Other tasks may include:

-    Experience different areas of fiber build like engineering, construction, permitting, customer and address database management and overall data analyst activity– similar to a rotational program -    Work with each set of team member for build -    Broaden team ability based on data research -    Experiment with new technologies specifically to analytics -    Perform data analytics on each market to determine successes and failures

-    Evaluate varying methods that will result in different deployment intervals and costs, thus impacting future scale.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

Education Requirements

•     Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – May 2024.

•     Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Data Analytics, MIS Major, Business, STEM, and other related fields

Proficiency and understanding of:

•     Microsoft Office

•     Emphasis in excel

•     Data Analytics

•     Coding experience is a plus

•     CRM experience is a plus

Work Setting

•     Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Rochester, NY, Philadelphia, PA, or Remote- Work From Home

•     Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)

•     Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
