    The Main Responsibilities

    Lumen’s Finance organization is looking for a BI Developer Intern on our Business Intelligence team. This team’s focus is centered around our large enterprise customer data. The interns primary focus will be related to reporting inventory consolidation and conversion project across all BI platforms and technology such as Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, and Qlik. Interns can expect to assist with hands on team project and individual contributions. This is a team works closely with large customers and will allow interns to get exposure in complex and large datasets. You will work closely with team of developers on a project to create inventory of reports including descriptions, business owners, source control, utilization, and quality assurance measure from portal that contains full suite of reports from financial, sales, and operations.

    Other responsibilities of intern will include:

    • Work with developers on the team to identify duplicate and outdated reports for decommissioning
    • Build up governance framework alongside team leadership
    • Work on conversion of Tableau and SSRS reports to Power BII reports
    • Other duties as assigned

    What We Look For in a Candidate

    Education Requirements

    • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or masters level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2024 – June 2025.
    • Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in CS, MIS, Data Analytics, or related field

    Proficiency and understanding of;

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office
    • Microsoft SQL/SSIS
    • Business Intelligence
    • Data Visualization and Data Modeling
    • Data Visualizations tools like Power BI, SSRS, Tableau

    Professional Attributes

    • Enjoys collaboration and works well in team environment
    • Strong drive for achieving results in remote style setting
    • Unafraid to ask questions to find solutions
    • Thinks outside the box to challenge the norm
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to multitask while working in fast paced environment
    • Comfortability in independent work and challenging project assignments
    • Project management skills

    • Detailed oriented – able to clearly and accurately express technical details in an understandable format
    • Eager to learn – Technology is constantly changing, and having the drive to learn new technology and apply it is essential to success

    • Problem-Solver – you will need to be able to analyze a situation and make recommendations for resolutions, sometimes these answers are not obvious
    • Inquisitive – willing to look to multiple sources to find a solution to a problem and willing to try new solutions

    Work Setting

    • This position will be fully remote/ work from home.
    • Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours per week during the 10-week program (June – August)

    Compensation

    Internship compensation ranges depends on each individuals level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.

    Hourly Based Pay Range:

    Min : $25.00/hour

    Max : $41.00/hour
