THE ROLE

LUMEN’S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IS A PATH FOR CAREER READINESS IN THE 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Lumen’s North America Operations organization is looking for a Communications Intern on the Field Operations and Network Implementation team. The team assists our network inventory and technician support center. This intern will support the frontline workers who are supporting our fiber build, the engineers who oversee the build and how to build it by communicating to our sales division on how to make the sales to customers in the region. The main goal of this team is to grow our Quantum Fiber network.

Day to day responsibilities include:

•     Develop communications for the team and to our leadership group

•     Provide organizational communications – effectively communicating what the goals are and how they are reached

•     Ability to bring fresh ideas and effectively tell a story in a captivating and visual manner

  WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

Education Requirements

•     Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising junior or senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – June 2025.

•     Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in English, Creative writing, PR, Communications or similar.

Work Setting

• This position is fully remote – work from home

• Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours per week during the 10-week program (June 2 – August 11, 2023)

Proficiency and understanding of:

•     Understand the requirements of each task and discuss the approach with more senior members of the team. 

•     Proficient in Microsoft Suite; specifically, PowerPoint

•     Experience in video editing software is a plus

•     Photoshop abilities are a plus

•     Problem-Solver – you will need to be able to analyze a situation and make recommendations for resolutions, sometimes these answers are not obvious
