THE ROLE
In this role, you’ll be operating as a core member of our Copy team—working hand-in-hand with UX, Video, Design, Project Management and your fellow interns to deliver industry-leading creative across our enterprise tech portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing skills; proven, high-level creative thinking; and a passion for telling compelling stories about complex topics/technologies.
THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Work from a creative brief to generate strong, results-driven concepts
Understand, implement and champion the Lumen brand voice
Present your ideas internally to peers, mentors, managers and more
Deliver final creative that meets the team’s strategic objectives
Coordinate and collaborate across groups to create world-class content for web, digital, video, social and more
Manage multiple projects and deliver work in a timely manner
Edit and proof work to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content outputs
Stay current on trends and competitors within the editorial sphere
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE
Educational Requirements
Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – June 2024
Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Communications, Marketing, Media Studies or related discipline
Proficiencies
A drive to understand emerging technologies, trends and philosophies in marketing, communications, technology and social media
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PPT and Excel) and comfortable learning new project management tools (we do everything in Workfront)
Ability to work independently with little direction under tight deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of basic branding concepts
Comfortable working remotely full time
Proven experience as a copywriter or related role preferred
Knowledge of online content strategy and creation preferred
Professional Attributes
Strong drive for results and taking initiative
Ability to be resourceful and adaptable
Eagerness to learn and receptive of constructive feedback
