    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    As a Data Analyst intern in our North American Operations organization, you will work collaboratively with our Dispatch and Capacity Planning Organization Team to support the planning and execution of dispatching over 6,000 of our Consumer and Small Business Technicians and over 1,000 of our National Enterprise Technicians Tasks during the 10 weeks may include gathering data and analytics to assist the team in making business decisions and actions. You will need a high level of engagement and ability to take initiative, ask questions, learn quickly, and work in a team environment. Other tasks may include:

    • Acquiring data from other sources, creating reports on a regular basis, correcting any issues, and ensuring that databases remain error-free and organized
    • Gather data specifically on Quantum fiber
    • Spot trends and anomalies within statistical data, to include using reporting and statistics tools
    • Conduct capacity planning
    • Work with various software packages, from reporting tools to statistical applications. Strong job candidates will need to be able to quickly pick up new computer programs and use them efficiently

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

    • Education Requirements

    • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university- rising senior or masters level status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2022 – May 2023.

    • Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.

    • Proficiency and understanding of:

      • Microsoft Suites
      • Statistical and analytical tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Excel, Access, SQL)
      • Reporting and publishing tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Point, Visio, SharePoint, Teams)
      • Python
      • Report writing skills – have experience with preparing reports for multiple levels of the organization
    • Professional Attributes

      • Strong drive for results/solutions and taking initiative to resolve problems
      • Comfortable approaching teammates, leadership, and building cross departmental relationships
      • High attention to detail with STRONG organizational skills
      • Ability to balance multiple projects at one time
      • Ability to communicate extremely well

      • Desire to collaborate with team and have agility while making effective decisions

    • Work Setting

      • Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Monroe, LA or Remote/Work From Home
      • Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
      • Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
      • US work authorization
