THE ROLE

LUMEN’S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IS A PATH FOR CAREER READINESS IN THE 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.

Be a part of an internship program, driving human progress through technology.  During a 10- week period our summer interns innovate and make an impact by transforming industries across the globe and changing the world one connection at a time.  Our interns are presented with real business challenges and provide solutions that make a difference across all areas of the company, all while learning the skills needed to successfully navigate the modern workplace.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Data Analyst intern in our North American Operations organization, the Intern will work collaboratively with our network planning team to assist with IP public internet planning for Lumen.  Tasks during the 10 weeks will focus on the creation of reports that will aid in the success of the Planning organization. Data Analyst interns will have the potential to develop reporting skills including Power BI, SQL, Python, and some database management.

-    Participate in capacity management activities

-    Analyze data points, data cleansing and presentation of data -    Development and optimization of powerbi reports depicting network capability. -    Statistical trending and actionable data points

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

Education Requirements

•     Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising junior, senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – May 2025.

•     Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in CS, Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, MIS, STEM, and other related fields

Proficiency and understanding of the following

•     Microsoft Office Suites

•     Emphasis in excel knowledge

•     Python

•     Power BI

•     SQL experience is a plus

•     Creative minded ready to create new solutions

•     Comfortability interacting with various levels of leadership within the company

•     Works well independently as well as on a team

•     Strong drive for results and taking initiative

•     Ability to be resourceful, independent, and adaptable

Work Setting

•     Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Broomfield -CO, Tulsa -OK, or Remote- Work from Home

•     Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)

•     Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)

•     Intern must have reliable broadband access for remote work situation.
