    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    As an Engineer Intern in our Strategic Planning and Transformation organization, the Intern will work collaboratively with our Digital Communication ART.  Tasks during the 10 weeks will Partner in a team environment to design, develop, code, test and debug new software or significant enhancements to existing software of moderate complexity. Develop solutions across many disciplines and be responsible for explaining solutions and procedures.  Apply principles, theories and concepts and use methodologies, tools, documentation processes and test procedures to complete projects related to moderately complex software. The ideal intern will possess skillsets to include Oracle/PL SQL MongoDB, JAVA Script and ServiceNow.  You will need a high level of engagement and ability to take initiative, ask questions and work in a team environment. 

    -    Write the required code and tests and validate them locally

    -    Adapt to new technologies and willing to learn, particularly those providing reporting capabilities and other technologies  -    Participate in walk through of designs and programs providing appropriate feedback to ensure the technical quality of an application and provide solutions to design and program issues  -    Develop understanding of business processes, products, and metrics to better communicate and translate business requirements into technical solutions  -    Must adhere to all development processes (CMMI Level 3 or otherwise deemed best practices) to ensure appropriate flow of work with onsite, remote, off-shore, and contract resources  Provide on-call support

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

    Education Requirements

    •     Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – May 2025.

    •     Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical degree field.

    Proficiency and understanding of:

    •     Understand the requirements of each task and discuss the approach with more senior members of the team. 

    •     Ability to understand Business requirements and relate them to Design & Implementation from requirements.

    •     Software Development processes 

    •     Excellent unit/functional testing skills  

    •     Show some level of understanding of technologies they learned and be able to read out on a weekly basis with manager

    Work Setting

    •     Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Broomfield, CO Hybrid or REMOTE / WFH

    •     Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours per week during the 10-week program (June – August)

    •     Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)

    •     US work authorization
