THE ROLE
The Lumen Marcom department is responsible for the company's advertising and marketing. The role of the design team is to develop and maintain a consistent and compelling look and feel for all materials, including advertising, the lumen.com website, and other digital and print assets. We partner with the Copy, Web (UI / UX) and Video teams as a single creative group to showcase the company as a leader in our field, a company with vision and tools that enable users to do amazing things.
THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in various design projects from concept to completion
Produce moodboards, mockups, and engaging, innovative and effective design solutions
Pitch creative ideas
Work on a variety of projects hands-on such as ad and infographic design, animation, web page layout and more
Produce final design solutions (like logos, banners, interfaces)
Take on special design tasks (e.g. color correction)
Use various techniques to create drafts, mockups, and prototypes
Understand project requirements and goals, and adhere to company brand style guidelines
Collaborate with other designers and members of other teams
Listen to feedback from managers, stakeholders, and peers to hone skills and improve design
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE
Pursing a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Advertising, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Digital Design & Multimedia Design, or similar
Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college; junior or senior status at the start of the internship (graduating after August 2023)
Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred
Must be available to work 30 – 40 hours, during the specified 10-week timeframe
Strong online design portfolio (link required)
Ability to drive for results through leadership and flexible approaches
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Detail oriented and well organized
Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
Understanding basics of typography, layout, color theory and composition
Proficient in Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop; familiarity with Adobe XD and Microsoft PowerPoint
Familiarity with digital and print projects
Can craft and execute a vision with creativity and style individually, and as part of a team
Curious, quick learner, great communicator, reliable and ready to work hard
Interest in technology
Experience in HTML/CSS, illustration and/or animation preferred
US work authorization
