    The Main Responsibilities

    Our Cybersecurity Research & Analysis Internship is an intensive ten-week program designed to provide individuals with hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity. Interns will be deeply immersed within our cybersecurity Investigations team, focusing on understanding and addressing the ever-evolving threat landscape. As part of the Advanced Response, Monitoring Operations, & Remediation (ARMOR) team, the intern will explore areas such as incident analysis, policy refinement, integration of threat intelligence feeds, security stack automation and development, and more. In addition to working on real-time projects, the internship offers a robust connection to our organizational culture through various community projects and mentorship opportunities. If you are passionate about cybersecurity and looking to leverage your academic learning into practical experience, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

    Day-to-day could include:

    • Undertake a comprehensive introduction to our cybersecurity methodologies and operations.
    • Participate in strategic research, gaining insights into new threats, vulnerabilities, and the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
    • Collaborate with senior team members to integrate threat intelligence from our Treat Hunting Operations and Research (THOR) team.
    • Engage in hands-on incident analysis in collaboration with our CIRT and Forensics team, delving deep into post-mitigation activities and refining detection strategies based on learnings.
    • Work on operational projects, offering insights into the threat landscape and ensuring alignment with our strategic cybersecurity goals.

    What We Look For in a Candidate

    Education Requirements

    • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2024 – June 2025.
    • Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Science (CS), or another technical related degree focused on networking, forensics, or cybersecurity.

    Proficiency and understanding of;

    • Strong critical thinking skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Above-average understanding of current cyber threats, threat actors, and industry trends.
    • Familiarity with foundational networking concepts, such as TCP/IP, OSI model, key protocols, and network topologies.
    • Familiarity with programming fundamentals, such as data and operations, functions, variables, and loops.
    • Experience working in Windows environments, including registry analysis, file structures, and Windows event log analysis.
    • Experience working in Unix environments, including basic shell scripting, data manipulation, such as grep, and file structures.
    • Experience with cybersecurity tools, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewall, antivirus, vulnerability scanner, packet analysis, or DLP.

    Work Setting

    • This is a fully remote – work from home position.
    • Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours per week during the 10-week program (June – August)
    • US work authorization is required

    Compensation

    Internship compensation ranges depends on each individuals level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.

    Hourly Based Pay Range:

    Min: $25.00/hour

    Max: $41.00/hour
