THE ROLE

LUMEN’S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IS A PATH FOR CAREER READINESS IN THE 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.

Be a part of an internship program, driving human progress through technology.  During a 10- week period our summer interns innovate and make an impact by transforming industries across the globe and changing the world one connection at a time.  Our interns are presented with real business challenges and provide solutions that make a difference across all areas of the company, all while learning the skills needed to successfully navigate the modern workplace.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Marcom Video Production Intern will be a highly creative, conceptual thinker with technical background in video production and animation that enables them to fill a variety of roles as needs dictate on a project-by-project basis. The Marcom Video Production Intern will work within Lumen’s in-house creative department to produce enterprise marketing video content to support the Lumen Brand campaign and strategic product-level campaigns. Close collaboration with other members of the creative team (video producers, art directors, copywriters, graphic designers and other interns) is integral to success.

Daily Responsibilities may include:

• Production alignment meetings

• Video Edit/Animation to support B2B marketing campaigns

• Close collaboration with mentor, art director and management

• Exploratory/research work to support Lumen's brand evolution

• Creating motion graphics for video

• Mac/Adobe CC workflow

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

Applicants must have a working knowledge and a general understanding of the video production pipeline, camera systems, visual theory, storytelling, industry standard techniques, technologies, equipment capabilities and software (Adobe CC). Successful applicants will be responsible for creative services including pre-production design, production, and post-production video edit and motion graphics support. Must have an interest in design, color theory, character animation, typography, and text graphics.

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – June 2024

• Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Visual Media Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Mass Communications, RTVF, Film, or similar program with an emphasis on video production

• Be a team player

• Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels

• Able to build relationships and collaborate across the Video team and the Marcom creative department

• Demonstrated ability to produce high caliber video stories (reel/samples)

• Familiar with Adobe CC (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere)

• Ability to learn and apply new technical concepts

• Ability to focus on priority projects/programs in a cross functional, geographically dispersed environment in timely and effective manner

• Knowledge of basic branding concepts

• PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills
