    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Intern will be building small Transport Networks in the network integration labs at the Zuni and Broomfield lab locations.  Tasks will be fiber qualification, transport test set familiarization and implementation as required to test 400, 100 and 10 GbE circuits.  Intern will work side by side with all transport engineers to understand a wide variety of transport network elements and will learn the fundamentals of network integration, network testing and network provisioning through automation.

The intern will start from the basic fundamentals of testing, beginning with installation, and moving through a general certification of a transport element.  Because we'll be moving lab locations, this will be a unique opportunity to understand the A-Z procedures to install, turn-up, test / upgrade all aspects of a general transport network certification.

    •     Network test bed development

    •     Transport network equipment installation fundamentals - we will be in the process of relocating the Mineral lab to 5325 Zuni Street so there will be many opportunities to experience installation of equipment.

    •     Test execution required to accept products for general deployment within the Lumen Network.

    •     General requirement reviews and understanding how to apply these requirements into a lab test scenario.

    •     Testing and writing Methods of Procedures (MOPs) relating to automated provisioning systems and general transport network element functionality.
