  • Responsibilities

    The Network Engineer Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside the senior engineering team and have hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Extreme and other networking solutions. You will work with senior engineering in all areas of network service, including planning, design, implementation, troubleshooting, and documentation.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for first level support of LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure.
    • Assisting Senior Engineering team with maintenance, deployment, monitoring of network.
    • Maintain and deploy Layer 2/3 switches
    • Maintain and deploy Cisco routers
    • Maintain and deploy VLAN's, access ports, user moves, adds, changes.
    • Assist in SolarWinds monitoring and reporting.
    • Define network test plans and review results.
    • Maintain a positive attitude, and project a high level of professionalism on behalf of IT to the customer.
    • Maintain a clean and efficient work area, lab and data center.

  • Qualifications
    • Junior/Senior with a Bachelor Degree-Related Major (i.e. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications.)
    • Experience with Ethernet and IP networking fundamentals.
    • Experience and basic knowledge with some Internet routing protocols, and network hardware.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills, and capable of managing several complex tasks at a time.
    • Ability to manage personal workload and deliverables, to meet aggressive project timelines.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Excellent interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent documentation skills; must be able to provide written updates for all levels of management.
    • Comfortable using Visio and other documentation products.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Capable of climbing ladders/stairs while carrying test equipment.
    • Strong work ethic and team player.
    • Must maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
