THE ROLE
LUMEN’S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IS A PATH FOR CAREER READINESS IN THE 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.
Be a part of an internship program, driving human progress through technology. During a 10- week period our summer interns innovate and make an impact by transforming industries across the globe and changing the world one connection at a time. Our interns are presented with real business challenges and provide solutions that make a difference across all areas of the company, all while learning the skills needed to successfully navigate the modern workplace.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Support complete contract and customer support for new solution development and operational support within a telecommunication supplier environment
Analyze critical variables and develop efficient solutions to complex customer requirements
Perform tasks, analysis, planning, and/or documentation for technical projects and opportunities
Duties may include integration and “what-if” analysis, tracking, project management, and coordination
Provide information that supports strategic decision making by others for the area.
Follow guidelines, methodologies and/or precedents and apply judgment as necessary.
Assist with reporting activities
Work within high performing teams to establish Customer Experience success criteria for mission requirements
Design customized solutions leveraging Lumen products and services
Explore innovations within business process
Provide analytical support
Research and collect data for various initiatives
Network with internal and external constituents
Interface and partner with all levels of employees
Support and influence multiple projects simultaneously
Provide best in class customer service
Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE
Education Requirements
Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – May 2024.
Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Business, Cybersecurity, or similar degree field.
Proficiency and understanding of:
Possess a maturing knowledge of technology business and finance processes/methods
Knowledge of telecommunication approaches and technologies (preferred)
Capable of drawing conclusions from research and analysis and determine next steps and course of action
Ability to articulate a persuasive argument for a business decision through financial and business acumen within departmental boundaries.
Capable of learning technology specific application of business practices and applying them to changing technical approaches and business direction
Able to handle and analyze complex information
Professional Attributes
Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
Highly motivated, organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Flexible and adapts well to change
Capable of efficient structuring and conveyance of information in verbal and written presentation formats
Work Setting
Ideally the position will hybrid in Herndon, VA. May consider remote/ work from home.
Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
US Citizenship required for Federal clearance consideration.
