THE ROLE

LUMEN’S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IS A PATH FOR CAREER READINESS IN THE 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.

Be a part of an internship program, driving human progress through technology.  During a 10- week period our summer interns innovate and make an impact by transforming industries across the globe and changing the world one connection at a time.  Our interns are presented with real business challenges and provide solutions that make a difference across all areas of the company, all while learning the skills needed to successfully navigate the modern workplace.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Lumen’s North America Operations organization is looking for a PROJECT MANAGEMENT INTERN on the Field Operations and Network Implementation team. This team’s focus is centralized field operations, dispatch, forecasting, networking, organization, and communication.

Main responsibilities of intern will include:

1. Project task tracking and follow-up

2. Create and maintain project plans

3. Document project status, issues, next steps, etc.

4. Attend project meetings

5. Communicate project status to project team, sponsor, and leadership

6. Working to improve processes especially tech related issues

7. Work alongside manager to eventually run your own project

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

Education Requirements

•     Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – June 2024.

•     Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Business, Marketing, PR, Communication, Creative Writing or similar.

•     Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Business, MBA, Operations, or similar background.

Proficiency and understanding of:

•     Proficient with Microsoft Office

•     Emphasis on excel knowledge and proficiency

•     MS-Project or other Project management software

•     Overall project management experience

•     Organizational mindset 

•     Comfortability interacting with different levels of leadership

•     Ability to be resourceful and adaptable while also being creative

•     Detailed oriented – able to clearly and accurately express technical details in an understandable format

•     Eager to learn – Technology is constantly changing, and having the drive to learn new technology and apply it is essential to success

•     Team Player – You’ll need to rely on other people to be complete the project, and need to work well with others

•     Problem-Solver – you will need to be able to analyze a situation and make recommendations for resolutions, sometimes these answers are not obvious

Work Setting

•     This position is fully remote/ work from home.

•     Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours per week during the 10-week program (June – August)

•     US work authorization
