  • Responsibilities

    The purpose of this internship is to prepare college juniors and seniors for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization to include theory and practical application of attained knowledge.

    This position will be working within the Zebra EVM design assurance organization but will interface with other organizations as necessary. This position will continue on work started in the 2018 internship program and will be working with both the SW Quality and Hardware Quality teams to validate hypothesis, continue modeling service component level failure analytics and establishing SW quality guidelines and best practices.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for analyzing and modeling field failure data for different portable devices in various use cases.
    • Responsible for continuing work in building database for field data user reliability distributions.
    • Analyze both field and accelerated life test data and reporting/presenting to management any recommendations that the data and results reveal.
    • Working with the SW Quality team to also continue to evolve SW and JIRA record analytics.
    • Working with Reliability Engineering and participate in field failure reviews, root cause analysis, perform testing, conduct research to identify and drive improvements to the Quality and Reliability of Zebra products.
  • Qualifications
    • Current enrollment in a graduate degree program in a discipline related to the project specifics.
    • Experience with knowledge in one or more of the following: Reliability Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Quality Engineering
    • Strong knowledge in reliability distribution modeling such as Weibull and others
    • Proficiency in statistical/reliability SW tools such as Minitab. programming and data mining skills.
    • Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
    • Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic and/or extracurricular experiences
    • Strong problem-solving abilities
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to collaborate as part of a team
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
    • Six Sigma training (Green Belt or Black Belt) desirable.
