THE ROLE

Lumen’s Internship Program is a path for career readiness in the 4th Industrial Revolution.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Security Consultant is responsible for providing information security consulting services in a technological and advisory capacity to Lumen customers. The consultant must possess an operational security mindset, superior customer interaction skills, and a broad perspective on information security topics.

•     Evaluate security tools and develop comparative matrices. 

•     Develop Microsoft Excel based questionnaires and data collection forms. 

•     Develop Microsoft Word based report templates. 

•     Assist with development of Microsoft PowerPoint presentations for Sales and Customer consumption. 

•     Participate in Security Advisory consulting projects: Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

•     Pursing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration

•      Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college; junior or senior status at the start of the internship (graduating August 2023- May 2024)

•      Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred

•      Must be available to work 30 – 40 hours, during the specified 10-week timeframe

•      Certifications: Security+ or similar level of knowledge (preferred)

•     Knowledge: Intermediate level Microsoft Office suite; Basic understanding of information technology security concepts and tools.  

•      Ability to drive for results through leadership and flexible approaches

•      Excellent verbal and written communications skills

•      Detail oriented and well organized

•      Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT
