This position is for a Software Engineering Internship within the Chief Technology Office of Zebra Technologies in Holtsville, NY during the summer of 2018.

This Chief Technology Office team is an entrepreneurial team that develops/innovates businesses and technologies that are new or adjacent to existing Zebra Technologies’ businesses/technologies. We incubate new ideas and technologies to prepare them for adoption in new or existing products and businesses.

Responsibilities

• This intern will be responsible for assisting lead engineers in the design and development of enterprise-specific solutions that utilize state of the art sensing technologies.
• We are looking for a creative intern to work with us this summer. Our team is multidisciplinary which provides a good opportunity for a self-motivated individual to learn and contribute.

• Understanding and experience of low-level software
• Knowledge of RTOS on embedded platforms is a plus
• Familiarity with Linux
• Proficiency with C, C++, Java and JavaScript
• Experience in writing device drivers
• Familiarity with various debugging methods
• Basic understanding of hardware, including the ability to read schematics and use an oscilloscope
• Good communications skills and ability to collaborate with other developers
• Coursework or experience in Software Engineering or related field
• Computer vision and image processing experience is a plus
