    LUMEN’S US INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IS A PATH FOR CAREER READINESS IN THE 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.

    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    As a Software Developer in our Strategic Planning and Transformation organization, within a development team supporting the application and technologies for our North America Field Operations.  This role will have the opportunity to work on modern applications, migrating and merging outdated systems to one consolidated dispatching platform.   The intern should have an interest in application support in end user development with a mindset to take initiative, be resourceful and curious, not afraid to ask questions and make suggestions with new ideas.

     

     

    • Provide domain support for our Mass Markets Field Technicians and Dispatch teams that provide a next generation experience to our Field Operations
    • Create data queries
    • Work with a new modernized cloud application,
    • Work with Dispatch Portal stack and create and manage APIs
    • Create tables and verify database entries
    • Test flow through activities to understand application relationships and automation activities
    • Develop code for specific business requirements
    • Support production releases
    • Learn various monitoring and logging tools to evaluate potential production problems and fixes

     

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

    • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
      • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2022 – June 2023.
      • Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical degree.
    • PROFICIENCY AND UNDERSTANDING OF
      • Experience with mobile applications
      • Familiarity with HTML, Spring Boot, camel, jQuery, Java8 or higher, (Kafka and Tibco optional)
      • Familiarity with Kubernetes and microservices 
      • Experience with automation
    • PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES

      • Collaborative and have agility while making effective decisions
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Ability to interact with business partners and drive the conversation

    • WORK SETTING
      • The position will be in one of the following offices: Broomfield, CO or work from home/remote.
      • Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June 3– August 12, 2022)
      • Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
      • US work authorization required

    WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT
