    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    As a Software Support Engineer Intern in our Strategic Planning and Transformation organization, the Intern will work collaboratively with our Tier 2 Production Support Flowthrough Team.  Tasks during the 10 weeks will learning to work within ServiceNow to manage trouble tickets on their assigned applications. Candidate will become familiar with the step-by-step order flow process, find where the process failed, and fix the order so it can proceed. The ideal intern will possess skillsets to include troubleshooting and analytical, process engineering, automation and technical writing .  You will need a high level of engagement and ability to take initiative, ask questions and work in a team environment. 

    -    Analysis and Triage – Establish source of issue and direct to appropriate team -    Process Flow – Understand how an order flows through the various systems to identify and correct broken steps

    -    Write and post user Self-Help documents to minimize the need for ticket creation  -    Communicate findings with business users and in tickets during closure -    Trouble Ticket System – Learn ServiceNow ticketing system and how to properly manage incidents through completion -    High level understanding of how applications are put together and how they work together, and how they pull in info from databases   WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

    Education Requirements

    •     Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – May 2025.

    •     Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical degree field.

    Proficiency and understanding of:

    •     Understand the requirements of each task and discuss the approach with more senior members of the team. 

    •     Ability to understand Business requirements and relate them to Design & Implementation from requirements.

    •     Software Development processes 

    •     Excellent unit/functional testing skills

    Work Setting

    •     Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: REMOTE / WFH

    •     Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)

    •     Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)

    •     US work authorization
