    THE ROLE

     

    LUMEN’S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IS A PATH FOR CAREER READINESS IN THE 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.

    Be a part of an internship program, driving human progress through technology.  During a 10- week period ( June 3, 2022 - August 12, 2022) ,our summer interns innovate and make an impact by transforming industries across the globe and changing the world one connection at a time.  Our interns are presented with real business challenges and provide solutions that make a difference across all areas of the company, all while learning the skills needed to successfully navigate the modern workplace.

     

    Interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns.

     

    Interns within the Strategic Enterprise and Public Sector Organization will be a part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Lumen work projects.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    In this role, our goal is to provide our intern with a wide exposure to Lumen products and various organizations. He/She/They will work closely with our Sales & Customer Success teams, working alongside a Technical Solutions team where you will learn and contribute to our customers’ success. As a Solution Support Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to grow your technical and sales skills while contributing to the growth of our enterprise customers as they embrace the 4th Industrial Revolution .

     

    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Interface and shadow management and the solution support engineering group, as well as a team of Solution Engineers / Architects to understand core competencies. 
    • Ensure team documentation is adequate and up to date on team SharePoint site, Microsoft teams page, etc. 
    • Attend Lumen Tech Talks, Sales team calls, Sales Hour calls to consider additional, effective ways in which information and updates could be conveyed in a more efficient manner. 
    • Build proficiency in various tools required to perform successful research tasks and order submission.

     

     

    The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, resourceful, takes initiative, has a keen attention to detail, strong organization skills, communication skills, and maintains a professional demeanor.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or closely related field.
    • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2022 – June 2023.
    • 3.0 or above cumulative GPA preferred
    • If position is in office, must have transportation to/from work daily
    • Must be available to work 30 – 40 hours, during the specified 10-week timeframe.

     

    WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT
