Your Role and Responsibilities

As an I/O subsystem lab technician, you will be working with our Hardware Design Team as part of the IBM Systems Group. You would have responsibilities such as but not limited to:

• Failure analysis of lab/manufacturing/field failures
• First article mechanical and electrical inspection of I/O adapters
• I/O card and drawer reworks
• Signal integrity probe placements, measurements, and oscilloscope operation
• Lab infrastructure setup and maintenance
• Debug of the FRU Control Unit (FCU) and support of FCU deliverables in system
• Assist with Direct to Chip (D2C) test setups in POK labs and Building 012 test floor
• Bring up and maintenance of lab I/O systems and standalone hardware unit verification environments
• Communicating progress and roadblocks on ongoing work items
• Adhere to corporate safety and other standards of practice

ABOUT THE TEAM

You will be primarily working with electrical engineers and technicians on equipment usage, testing and analysis.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Exposure to engineering technical work
• Demonstrated communication skills professional environment

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Associates in electronics or electrical technology or equivalent 5 years of relevant work experience
• Familiarity with I2C tools (like Aardvark, Promera, Beagle..), schematic/board file logic, systems operation, and interpreting log entries
