    This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or are participants of the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 2-2024.

    The Artificial Intelligence & Data (AI&D) Organization is an exciting center of excellence supporting all business units across Verizon. Our mission is to be a catalyst to Verizon's future with a focus on creating networks that move the world forward through the power of Artificial Intelligence & Data. In this position you will combine the datasets from many sources that will help analyze the current and future anticipated states. The data flows should also help prioritizing and supporting current/new strategies for Telecom Networks. You will play a pivotal role in constructing the data to bring out solutions that generate substantial value for the business. You will work closely with a team of data scientists, big data engineers, and software developers to implement and deliver use cases for Verizon’s Global Network and Technology (GN&T).

    You will be responsible for:

    • Collaborate with the other data engineering team to design, develop and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure

    • Assist in collection, processing and storage of structure and unstructured data from disparate sources.

    • Analyze complex data sets to extract insights and identify trends that inform business decision making.

    • Perform Data discovery, analysis and correlation to bring out business understanding that help come up with new value added business solutions.

    • Partner with AI&D, Network Systems, and GN&T teams to craft compelling business case presentations, drive engaging storytelling, and facilitate effective stakeholder engagement for enhanced business outcomes.

    With your big data engineering should support business intelligence reporting and analytics to drive insights to actions. One way you will accomplish this is by developing analytical views of data utilizing various tools such as Tableau, Looker, Qlik, and web-based applications.

    You will also:

    • Perform ad-hoc analysis and develop reproducible analytical approaches to meet business requirements.

    • Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods.

    • Create and document new processes and procedures to drive adoption of insight/outputs into the consumers.

    You should be able to:

    • Solid understanding of database concepts, data modeling and data warehousing concepts

    • Strong problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail on data.

    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    You’ll need to have:

    • This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or are participants of the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 2-2024

    • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience or Masters Degree; Areas - (statistics, mathematics, analytics, engineering, computer science, or another technical and/or financial discipline)

    • Experience with SQL and Python or Spark to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.

    • Experience with developing insights, presenting, and influencing strategic decisions using data.

    Even better if you have:

    • Basic understanding of RAN Technologies, IP Networking, RF/SP engineering tools / principles

    • Knowledge of improving system performance, capacity, reliability and scalability of the network

    • Experience with Big Data architecture and mining for insights across various data sources.

    • Knowledge of data warehouse and data lake technology (Hadoop, No SQL, graph DB).

    • Knowledge of one or more Verizon Engineering domains: Capacity/Build, Performance, Assurance, Care, etc.

    • Knowledge on AI/ML models or analytical tools (eg: Dataproc, Jupyter Notebook, Regressions, Classification, etc.).
