    What we’re looking for...

    Verizon Cloud Object Storage Platform offers data backup services to its customers. It is an object storage intensive, container based platform. This position touches responsibilities across the entire application lifecycle including, but not limited to, developing storage solutions, automation and operational support.

    • Develops software solutions by studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas & determining operational feasibility

    • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.

    • Tests, validate and deploy new features and bug fix’s in a fast paced environment. Includes ongoing monitoring and support.

    • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.

    You’ll need to have:

    • Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 2-2024.

    • Bachelor’s degree or five or more years of work experience.

    • Five or more years of relevant work experience.

    Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • Infrastructure fundamental knowledge including compute, virtualization, network and storage concepts including Openshift, Kubernetes, Docker, Cassandra, Hadoop & Spark.

    • Understanding of container-orchestration systems, for automating application deployment, scaling, and management.

    • Experience with programming in a language like Python, Golang, Java and experience with software development life cycles.

    • Experience working within the data analysis ecosystem on top of platforms such as Hadoop, Spark.

    • Comfort in the use of command line tools.
