Verizon is modernizing our core networks to enable new, groundbreaking products and technologies. These networks leverage virtualization and software defined networking and will transform how we provide products and service, and maintain our position as the industry leader. As part of this team, you will play a meaningful role in our network transformation through building a unified network across all lines of business and maintaining the technology that keeps millions of our customers connected.
Analyze and Interpret Vendor equipment documentation
Create system templates for equipment and telemetry deployed in Verizon’s network
Create system requirements to support new equipment capabilities in Verizon systems
Create test cases for new equipment templates and functionality needed to support customer needs
Test and verify new equipment templates and functionality in Verizon systems
Project Manage multiple projects at the same time and provide weekly reporting to ensure projects stay on target and within service level agreements
Coordinate with Planning, Capacity Engineering, Program Management teams, Provisioning, Service Assurance
Ensure that work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, operational standards, and service level agreements
You must be detail-oriented, think critically to solve issues in real-time and focus on maximizing customer uptime and minimizing impact.
Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 2-2024.
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
Four or more years of relevant work experience

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems Management, or any STEM-based degree.
Organizational and leadership skills to push all projects to completion using conflict resolution/facilitation/solution-driven analysis.
Ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
Communication and project methodology skills in combination with technical experience in telecom network engineering.
