    This position is for a Network Assurance Performance entry level role in the Verizon Global Network & Technology organization. In this role you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing and addressing RAN and core network performance problems; troubleshooting and resolving customer issues. You will also assist with monitoring and analyzing performance and KPIs; detecting, solving and continuously improving overall network performance and associated metrics. You will test the performance of wireless networks and communication products; automating testing processes. You will be responsible for evaluating the network KPI trends, monitoring alarms and working on the upgrade of the network with new technologies and elements.

    As our Network System Assurance Engineer I, you’ll be supporting a world class telecommunications network. You’ll support the Facilities and Network associated with making sure the network and our customers are up and running 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This will include support of all facilities associated with power, space, and cooling. This will include network functions from the physical layer to network devices and configurations. You’ll be testing and analyzing network coverage, troubleshooting, and learning in a fast paced environment. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring contiguous communication, network integrity, quality and finding ways to make it even better.

    • Conducting fiber testing/turn up.

    • Inspecting building and grounds to ensure proper upkeep and maintenance.

    • ·Supporting interdepartmental objectives for new projects.

    • Maintaining site and test equipment inventories.

    • Maintaining daily logs with site specific information.

    • Composing clear and concise reports for system documentation.

    • Performing audits as required by local, regional, Area, Corporate or Regulatory agencies.

    • Handling switch related duties including backup of essential equipment and troubleshooting switch related equipment such as 4GLTE/5G/Routing/Switching related equipment, Fujitsu/Ciena related dark fiber equipment, and ALU 7705/IXR/7750 routers, and eNSE (Evolved Network Services Edge) equipment.

    • Assisting and troubleshooting of multiple network teams (smart hands/smart feet).

    • Troubleshooting, upgrading, integrating, and performing preventative maintenance on multiple vendor systems.

    • Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on regional data networks and correct anomalies.

    • Participating in First Office Applications (FOAs) and other projects as scheduled

    You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

    In this hybrid full time position, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid role will be based out of Redmond, WA.

    You’ll need to have:

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or related majors with a completion date of June 2024.

    • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

    • Willingness to travel and work in Redmond, WA.

    Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • Experience with TCP/IP, LAN/WAN and IP routing protocols.

    • Knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, network segmentation (VLAN), MPLS/BGP, and virtual routing instances.

    • Knowledge of Ethernet transport networks (LAN & WAN) and dark fiber.

    • Experience with high speed wireless technologies; LTE/5G/MMW/Routing/Switching.

    • Experience with Cisco/Juniper/Ciena/Nokia infrastructure and operating systems.

    • Experience using various network monitoring or performance tools such as EXFO, Viavi, Fluke, NetScout,
      Wireshark and Prospect.

    • Knowledge of Cloud Technology and Virtualization/Orchestration technologies (Openstack/Kubernetes/etc)

    • Knowledge of one of more coding languages (Python/C/Java/Go/etc)

    • Ability to adapt to ever changing infrastructure.

    If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $53,000.00 and $98,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
