Leidos is looking for a Network Control/Data Center Monitoring Intern to support our LM VDC Network Control Center (NCC) with a focus on Monitoring activities. The Intern will serve as a NCC Analyst working in the NCC and maintaining operations of CMS VDC Systems. The NCC is the focal point for monitoring systems supporting CMS VDC and coordinating the processes and activities that focus on restoring service as quickly as possible after an incident occurs.
Job duties include:
Monitors computing resources within the CMS VDC Environments.
Alerts systems owners, stakeholders and management of degraded system status and Severity 1 incidents.
Researches system problems, troubleshoots, escalates and documents corrective actions.
Assists with Change Management, Problem Management, Configuration management and Crisis Management activities.
Collaborates with peers from other Functional Areas and shares relevant information regarding incidents and events on different platforms.
Monitors data center networks, infrastructure bandwidth, application health, servers and other infrastructure. Coordinates and communicates with vendors.
Utilizes the monitoring systems to maintain system health awareness.
Utilizes phone, email, instant messaging, and other systems to facilitate communication between parties.
Provides front line service support to engineers and customers.
Assists with the performance of “Change Management” to ensure all changes to the environment are properly authorized and documented.
Ensures the production and distribution of timed reports, plus, additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program pursuing a degree in information technology or related.
Familiarity with Windows Office Applications and basic PC functions.
Interest in pursuing career in Data Center Operations with a desire to learn IT Technical subjects.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
