    This position is for a Network Engineering intern. Some of the projects you may work on could enhance your skills in one or more of the following areas:

    • 5G Technology.

    • AR/VR and Computer Vision.

    • NFV (Network Functions Virtualization).

    • Network Performance Optimization and Management.

    • Software Defined Networking (SDN).

    • Business Analytics.

    • Programming: Java, Python, Wireshark, Splunk.

    • Radio Frequency Design.

    • Data Warehousing: SQL & database query tools.

    • Grafana (Prometheus) & GitHub Network.

    You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

    In this hybrid internship, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. If relocation is required, relocation assistance may be available.

    You’ll need to have:

    • Ability to participate in our hybrid 10-week internship that takes place from June 3, 2024-August 9, 2024.​

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or related majors with a completion date between December 2024 and June 2027.

    • Coursework or demonstrated experience in scripting and coding (ex: Python, Java).

    • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

    • Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.

    Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.

    • Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

    • Proficiency in systems configuration & optimization (MATLAB).

    • Proficiency in propagation modeling (ex: Planet EV, Atoll).

    • Knowledge of Database Management Database management systems (ex: SQL).

    • Knowledge of Cloud Enablement Systems (ex: Cloud Enabled Kubernetes, Doker, OpenShift, cloud computing, distributed file systems).

    • ·Knowledge of Cloud and Virtualized solutions (ex: OpenStack, VMWare).

    In addition to building your skills and experiences, you will be eligible to participate in our robust 401(k) Savings Plan which provides a dollar-for-dollar company match on the first 6% of your contributions as a percentage of your eligible pay.
