What you’ll be doing...

THIS NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY CO-OP POSITION, WHICH IS PART OF THE VERIZON CAMPUS PROGRAM, WILL GIVE YOU A CHANCE TO CHANNEL YOUR DRIVE AND ENTHUSIASM AS PART OF A 16 WEEK ROTATION FROM AUGUST 2023 TO DECEMBER 2023 WORKING A FULL-TIME SCHEDULE. YOU’LL BE FRONT AND CENTER, HANDS-ON AND CONTRIBUTING YOUR CREATIVE ENERGY TO HIGH-IMPACT PROJECTS FROM THE MOMENT YOU ARRIVE.

If you enjoy working in a team environment, talking or working with others from a variety of backgrounds, and excelling on team projects, this co-op may be the role for you! This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creativity and a challenge: solving problems, puzzles, or thinking about complex processes. Maybe you find maps interesting and you enjoy imagining what could be. Perhaps you have an understanding of cost versus performance ratios and are inquisitive when it comes to finding solutions. Our projects build a network that connects the world, so it's an exciting time to join the V-Team.

In this role, you may have the opportunity to:

• Gather and explore many different datasets, whether structured or unstructured. You’ll clean the data to make it usable, and you’ll be excited to find significant correlations among different data elements.

• You’ll become skilled in using various statistical tests to better understand relationships among the data, and you’ll be eager to use domain-specific knowledge to explain what the data is showing you.

• You’ll create useful models from the data to answer specific network-related questions, whether you’re finding the best equation to fit to a curve, or using machine learning algorithms to make reasonable predictions. You’ll also be proficient in using charts and diagrams to tell your data’s story.

• Develop your professional network within Verizon.

You must be currently enrolled in a qualifying bachelors degree program at Northeastern University and be in good academic standing to be considered.

This Co-Op position will be based out of one of the following locations:

• 180 Washington Valley Rd, Bedminster, NJ 07921

• 500 W Dove Rd,Southlake,TX 76092

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• Current enrollment in a Northeastern University Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, or related major with an expected completion date between December 2023 and May 2026.

• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

• Willingness to work in a Verizon office.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Previous Internship or Co-Op experience.

• Completed coursework in computer programming (Python/R), linear algebra, physics, probability/ statistics, and/or machine learning/data management/ data analysis/ data structures.

• Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management and attention to detail.

• Demonstrated strong analytical, communication, leadership and presentation skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, team environment.
