    What you’ll be doing...

    You will be handling and project managing functions associated with the engineering, buildout, maintenance, and enhancements to Verizon’s Outside Plant Network including structures, cables, and associated equipment.

    • Developing processes for constructing and maintaining the outside plant infrastructure based on the build-out of the network and needs of the business.

    • Providing guidance to junior engineers in order to monitor the infrastructure and troubleshoot and repair issues that arise with the fiber and equipment.

    • Directing internal departments and liaison with residential and business end-users, building contractors, and property owners to implement solutions appropriately.

    • Developing service order requirements based on external and internal customers.

    • Providing guidance to junior engineers in implementing the projects.

    • Developing and implementing engineering projects, working with the appropriate teams and utilizing resources to ensure the success of the project.

    • This position can be located in any valid Verizon location in NJ, NY and PA.

    What we’re looking for...

    You’ll need to have:

    • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

    • Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

    • Three or more years of experience in project management, with a specific focus on overseeing the double pole program.

    • Three or more years of experience in Outside Plant Design, Engineering and Planning with technical knowledge of OSP systems and typical construction standards.

    • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

    • A valid Driver’s License.

    Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • A degree.

    • Experience managing damage pole replacements, overseeing vendor work, cross functional teams and pole partners to expedite pole transfer and removal work.

    • Experience using engineering and pole design systems knowledge (vBuild, Canvas, ICGS/IDDS/PRS).

    • Ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external teams.

    • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, as well as balance multiple projects by prioritizing effectively.

    • Proven ability to work in a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.

    • NJUNS, National Joint Utility Notifications System knowledge.

    • Strong PC skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, etc.) and experience using virtual collaboration tools (i.e. Zoom, Slack, Google Workspace, MS teams, etc.).

    Where you’ll be working

    In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

    The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

    The annual salary range for the New York location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $74,000.00 - $129,000.00.
