    The Project Manager is responsible for project planning, project schedules, controlling overall project budget/margin, and managing customer needs throughout the project life cycle. The Project Manager plays a key role in project startup gathering project specific details to set up the project web portal this includes; developing escalation plans, project plans, project documentation, scripts for the project support desk and managing the pilot phase of the install rollout to ensure all project processes and information are accurate. The Project manager is also responsible for schedule planning, providing detailed accurate status reports to customers highlighting project specific KPI's, serving as level 2 escalation point for staff and customers and the review and approval of project invoicing and contractor pay. Finally the Project Manager will control the scope of work to limit scope creep and identify risk throughout the life of the project to ensure SOW compliance.

    This position is available for either location: Chaska, Minnesota OR Greer, South Carolina.

    III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    PROJECT PLANNING

    Percentage of time spent in this area: 30%

    • The Project Manager is responsible for understanding and verifying all aspects of the project SOW and using this understanding to set up the project web portal

    • Sequencing and route planning of the project schedule to maximize efficiency while meeting customer schedule requirements and restrictions.

    • Understand project KPI's and establish a method to track and report these statistics to the customer

    • Develop project documents including install manual, work order, call scripts, and report templates

    • Work closely with the customer to institute practices and procedures to mitigate project risks

    CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT

    Percentage of time spent in this area: 30%

    • Gain approval and buy in from the customer on the project plan, schedule and documentation.

    • Collaborate with the customer PM to overcome site specific and overall project challenges

    • Resolve issues of scope creep and site specific out of scope work

    • Provide the customer is updated with current, accurate project progress and status reports.

    PROJECT EXECUTION

    Percentage of time spent in this area: 40%

    • Update project documentation to ensure all parties have accurate timely project information.

    • Review project status reports from team members ensuring accurate, well presented data is being provided to the customer

    • Second level support for onsite independent contractors and service desk

    • Ensure project budgets and margin targets are met

    III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Applicants should have one of the following:

    • College diploma in a Business or IT field or 2 years' experience in project coordination

    • 2 years' experience in project management, with a focus on technology projects in the retail sector

    • Knowledge of retail POS, digital signage or data and voice cabling installations is a plus

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Strong project management skills and/or a PMP Certification.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite& general PC function and use

    • Excellent written and verb skills, the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties

    • Ability to multi task, managing different stages of the installation process for multiple jobs occurring simultaneously

    • Attention to detail is a must

    • Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful time sensitive deadline.

    • Strong prioritization skills

    MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    MENTAL DEMANDS:

    • Mathematical ability sufficient to add, subtract, multiple, divide, figure averages, and margins.

    • Ability to communicate effectively by telephone and in group meetings and discussions.

    • Ability to document, receive, and distribute information accurately via email or project portal.

    • Ability to follow directions and procedures with a willingness to seek guidance from superiors when required.
