JOB DESCRIPTION:
Leidos has an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer in our Webster, TX office to work on NASA’s Cargo Mission Contract (CMC). In this position the engineer will work on sustaining tasks for CMC hardware and support projects involving the development and certification of spaceflight hardware in support of NASA's International Space Station (ISS), Orion, Human Landing System (HLS), Gateway and Commercial Programs. They will maintain, repair, research, develop, prepare, deliver, and perform inventory management of flight and non-flight hardware items. The team works with commercial software such as IBM Maximo, Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, and MS SharePoint, in addition to CMC custom software. Support of tests and other activities may be required outside of normal working hours.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Author and monitor work orders, purchase requests, job plans, non-conformance reports, internal/external customer presentations, designs, and trade studies
Perform Engineering Evaluations on hardware
Perform pre-flight processing and delivery, assembly and stowage of hardware
Provide technical engineering support and perform steps via work authorizing documents
Support hardware development projects to certify, flight-configure, and deliver new hardware for spaceflight
Create and maintain project resource-loaded schedules in MS Project Professional
Develop basis-of-estimates (BOEs) for new work
Support multiple requests and projects, prioritize, and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Read, interpret and develop engineering drawings

Experience working with multi-discipline teams and customers
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Organized, proactive, and communicates clearly
Must be able to pass a Public Trust background investigation; U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is required due to lengthy investigations for non-U.S. persons PAY RANGE:
