Your Role and Responsibilities

Highly talented undergraduate students with a passion for sales are invited to join IBM Watson Health in an exciting internship role.

As an intern with IBM’s sales team, you will work with healthcare organizations seeking improvements in clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. You will participate in understanding prospective clients' current and desired state to propose the optimal technology solution that will support their success. You will work side by side with experienced healthcare sales professionals to help clients improve care for their patients and build the world they envision.

This is a summer 2022 position.

Applicants should be rising Juniors or rising Seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the areas of Business, Communications, Marketing, Sales, or similar disciplines. Intern positions are located in major cities across the US.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

You will assist in the sales process of IBM Watson Healthcare Provider Technology division, focusing on healthcare system and medical group clients in their evaluation of Population Health Management SaaS technology.

During your internship, you will work directly with sales professionals on client opportunities and contribute to the day-to-day sales operations of the team. Interns will gain an understanding of IBM sales practices as well as knowledge about IBM's products to help develop business solutions.

You will have the opportunity to shadow sales representatives and network throughout all levels of the robust IBM organization, which will enable you to develop contacts and gain insights on future opportunities within IBM.

Applicants should be considering a career in sales and have a passion for healthcare innovation and solutions, through the application of technology. They should have proven leadership skills and a desire to learn about leading sales initiatives and how to close business deals.

Sales Intern applicants may:

• Work in conjunction with marketing and sales to generating new leads and qualified prospects using cold email, cold calling, social selling, and networking.

• Interns will learn and use SalesForce.com and Sales Loft to create/update accounts and track marketing campaigns.

• Manage inbound leads by following up with prospects who download marketing materials, attend events, request meetings, and engage via chat. Follow up is done through email, calling, and social selling.

• Work with the marketing to qualify leads.

• Engage with Account Executives to generate expansion opportunities with existing clients.

Sales is a team sport, and we are looking for a team player who wants to play on a championship team!

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Registered full-time university undergraduate student (must be a rising junior or rising senior)
• Pursuing undergraduate degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Sales, or similar disciplines
• English: Fluent

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Previous sales experience
