Rocket is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a development internship on our Salesforce team. The Salesforce Development Intern will be a member of the Business Applications Team and is responsible for coding, enhancing and testing the Salesforce application to meet Rocket’s technical and business process requirements. Working primarily with other leaders and developers on the Business Applications team, this role will provide training and enhance the intern’s Salesforce knowledge with the expectation that this knowledge will be used to maintain and enhance Rocket’s Salesforce implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Candidate will work to improve their Salesforce knowledge by completion of online Salesforce developer training and/or other materials, and will be able to apply that knowledge in real-world environments.
• Work independently & on team projects against deadlines in a dynamic environment where consistently producing deliverables within agreed upon timelines is expected.
• Participate in portions of the application life cycle, including assessment, development, and testing of new code and code changes.
• Candidate will need to be able to work effectively with management and development staff to assess impact of potential code changes.
• Write documentation and training materials supporting technical or business needs.

Required Skills

• Computer Science major or Computer Science experience required.
• Knowledge of Salesforce specific coding is not required, but demonstrated knowledge of general coding principals and best practices regarding object-oriented methodologies is required.
• Working knowledge of a modern development language, such as Java, is required.
• Familiarity with HTML/XHTML, XML, and SQL is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
