    What you’ll be doing...

At Verizon, we don't wait for the future, we build it! Join the industry leader in Network and Telecommunications Services as we embark on transforming our nation's critical communications infrastructure and the FAA's National Airspace System (NAS) network.

As a Transition Site Readiness Project Manager, you are responsible to manage and track the interdependent deliverables from the initial site assessment through site acceptance. The lifecycle of the implementation of the site transition begins approximately 15-12 months prior to the site migration to the Verizon managed services. You have an integrated team of network engineers, infrastructure and regional project managers and order management support with Transition and Service Area Project management oversight.

You will work with FAA, Network Engineering and our business partners to manage the site-specific verification of the physical and logical requirements for the Verizon’s FENS managed network solution.

Once you have confirmed circuit(s) installation and acceptance, site prep completion, site configuration build, and CPE readiness, you conduct “Go/No Go” with FAA site contacts and partners. Upon confirmation of readiness, CPE staging initiates. You proceed with scheduling resources, change windows, MOP updates and Provisioning activation. With assistance from Service Area Project Manager, communications and change management are submitted and dates/times approved. CPE is secured and shipped to FAA location to meet the coordinated ‘time/date’ for our field technician(s) partner at the site.

You will work with the Service Area Transition Project Manager, Service Readiness Project Manager and the Transition and Implementation Project team for assistance in reporting, schedule, milestones, creation of jeopardy, tracking and status reports. You will have access to customized tools and the ability to work with others to potentially customize reports, analyze performance and continue to seek ways to improve service delivery for the Transition project.

The Site Readiness Project Manager has the following key responsibilities:

    • Execute and maintain project management processes in the areas of project schedule, quality management, communications management, risk/issue management, and change management.

    • Coordinate and maintain project schedules and calendars with the input and assistance of service area project manager and transition leads

    • Facilitate site readiness meetings, providing meeting minutes and action items where needed

    • Build strong communication channels with site, district stakeholders, our field services partners, engineering, provisioning, project engineering and managed network operations.

    • Track tasks, durations, and deliverables to ensure on time delivery. Where necessary, escalate for improvements and explore alternative solutions to meet due dates expeditiously.

    • Responsible for tracking project changes and producing updated schedules

    • Influence continuous improvement of project management methodologies including: assessment of project delivery capabilities, gathering and reporting performance metrics, establishing corresponding targets, and measurement of on-going progress.

    • Ensure smooth communication within the project team and other cross-functional teams

    • Interface with internal/external stakeholders on a regular basis

    • Prepare and document Day 1/Day 2 support documentation and acceptance criteria
