    The Role

    Job Title: Senior Security Professional - Protective Services (Bellevue or Denver)

    Position Overview:

    The Senior Security Professional - Protective Services will be responsible for providing Executive Protection (EP) support to Lumen’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT), executive office buildings, and during special events throughout the country. Responsibilities also include investigating persons posing a potential threat to company interests, conducting venue security advances, and drafting site and event security plans and risk assessments. Successful candidates will be versatile, with the ability to quickly shift between protective duties, investigations, and other corporate security functions as needed.

    This role can be based out of our Bellevue, WA or Denver, CO corporate offices.

    The Main Responsibilities

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

    • Provide armed and/or unarmed EP support during assignments in office, special event, and residential environments.

    • Perform protective services advance planning and threat vulnerability assessments.

    • Monitor, detect, investigate, and mitigate incidents and potential threats to Lumen interests, including both insider and external threats.

    • Quickly manage and deescalate tense situations that arise at the office, residence or external events.

    • Coordinate medical emergency response as needed.

    • Perform additional corporate security tasks when not assigned EP-specific duties.

    What We Look For in a Candidate

    Qualifications & Skills:

    Required (education / experience / skills / competencies)

    • 3+ years of executive protection experience including advance planning, surveillance and counter surveillance operations, special event security, and security driving in government, law enforcement, or the private sector.

    • 5+ years of experience investigating and assessing potential threats or criminal activity in government, law enforcement, or the private sector.

    • Bachelor's or associate degree(s) in related field (e.g., criminal justice, psychology, behavioral/social sciences, law, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Must be licensed, certified, registered to carry a concealed weapon in Denver, CO, and/or Bellevue, WA, and other locations where the SLT travel, in a security guard capacity, or have the means to obtain such certification.

    • Must possess a valid LEOSA (HR-218) card or meet all the requirements and be willing to obtain the card upon hiring. Must maintain HR-218 card currency for the duration of employment with Lumen.

    • Formal training in executive protection and one or more of the following: defensive tactics, tactical emergency casualty care, tactical/evasive driving, and combat shooting.

    • Ability to perform duties through stressful interpersonal interactions, situations, and incidents.

    • Based in Bellevue, WA or Denver, CO metropolitan areas.

    • Ability to travel domestically or internationally on short notice, work long and flexible hours (including nights and weekends), and quickly respond to security incidents involving the SLT that require immediate attention.

    • Valid Driver’s License and US Passport.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, SLT members and external stakeholders.

    • Proficient with technology and Microsoft software, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Comfortable with and ability to quickly learn complex software and applications, including AI tools.

    Preferred

    • 7+ years of law enforcement experience.

    • 3+ years of EP or investigative experience in a corporate environment.

    • Relevant certifications such as Certified Executive Protection Specialist, Certified Threat Manager or similar.

    • Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification through an approved Red Cross provider.

    Compensation

    This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

    Location Based Pay Ranges

    $88,869 - $118,480 in these states: CO
    $93,092 - $124,122 in these states: WA
