    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Leidos is seeking a Sourcing Operations Intern in Oak Ridge, TN.

    Sourcing Operations Interns will work on a project to define Leidos’ “Procurement of the Future.” Interns will observe the buyer process to identify bottlenecks, choke points, or non-value-added activities. Inerns will job-shadow with Leidos Buyers, Subcontract Administrators, and other supply chain functions to develop a broad understanding of supply chain management at Leidos.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Interns will work with Leidos buyers to observe the following:

    • The development and negotiation of favorable prices, terms, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders and acquisition contracts, ensuring consistency with client requirements and procurement policies/procedures with minimal guidance.

    • Purchase order administration/file maintenance, closeout for all procurement related activities and supplier customer management.

    • Creating complex solicitations, supporting proposals, conducting moderate complexity price and cost analysis, negotiating price/cost and price/cost-related terms and other subcontract provisions.

    • Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.

    • Reviews proposals, and selects or recommends suppliers based on gathered information.

    • May also recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures.

    • Completes larger procurements with moderate manager oversight.

    • Support Leidos’ Procurement of the Future project.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field, supply chain or industrial engineering from an accredited university.

    • Requires limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts. Utilizes limited knowledge of industry practices and standards.

    • U.S. Citizenship is required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 3.0 GPA.

    • Expected graduation in bachelor degree in business or related field.

    PAY RANGE:

    • $36,400.00 - $56,000.00 - $75,600.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
