What you’ll be doing...
We’re looking for a wireless RAN Equipment Engineer in the Central Texas region. This position is highly demanding, fast-paced, and requires exceptional time management and communications skills. Majority of the work is in an office environment. As a wireless Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Providing project coordination and equipment ordering into the warehouse and out to our General Contractors locations for New Build Macro and relocation projects.
Providing complete ownership of project financials, including project budget funding, adherence to budget spending, creation & tracking of purchase orders, and inspecting work performed by contractors.
Providing accurate, timely, and concise communications; express and explain issues clearly; update project trackers daily; e-mail and call project members frequently.
Providing clear direction and supervision to contractors, vendors, and/or other teams supporting Macro and Relocation projects.
Providing guidance for power and battery upgrades.
Reviewing RFDS and A&E draswings with a focus on power requirements , cabinet requirements and recommendations for site layouts
Reviewing close out /acceptance check lists to ensure any installation issues are identified and corrected.
Evaluating new products, services, and vendors. Weigh the pros and cons, including impact to the system, costs, compatibility, and ease of use, and reliability.
Interfacing with internal and external departments to include Real Estate, Regulatory, and Construction teams to ensure consistancy with our equipment deployments.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Three or more years of relevant work experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Willingness to perform site visits as necessary . Little or no overnight travel is required .
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Ability to thrive while under intense circumstances to deliver projects on time, and within budget.
Willingness to learn new processes and technologies quickly; retain information; and eager to do research and finding info and answers.
A keen eye for detail.
Willingness to work ; answer phone calls when crews are on site supporting your projects; respond to e-mails promptly; and actively lead and participate in project/team meetings.
Strong knowledge of Samsung/Nokia/Ciena RAN equipment.
Knowledge of wireless RAN cell site design/engineering, equipment and construction.
