JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: - Overseeing the day to day operations of the pharmacy residency program. - Facilitation and oversight of the Residency Advisory Committee. - Review of pharmacy preceptor qualifications to ensure they are compliant with accreditation standards. - Ongoing evaluation of program accreditation readiness set forth by ASHP. - Facilitating screening and interviews of pharmacy resident candidates. - Annually reviewing and updating the residency programs curriculum. - Providing oversight of all pharmacy resident projects. - Providing oversight of all pharmacy resident and preceptor evaluations. - Oversight of the residency programs CMS pass through funding requirements. - Pharmacy resident recruiting at designated events. - Supporting pharmacy resident attendance at local and regional conferences. - Performs clinical pharmacist staffing duties KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of ASHP Residency Program requirements and pharmacy residency program operations. Knowledge in training and developing pharmacy residents. Knowledge of pharmacy dispensing systems including unit dose and IV admixture systems. Knowledge of compounding procedures includes aseptic technique in the compounding of IV admixtures. Knowledge of drug interactions and drug incompatibilities. Must possess knowledge of drug therapy and pharmacologic treatment of disease states. Knowledge of drug cost benefits as related to drug therapy. Must have the ability to teach and mentor students. Must have knowledge of and ability to efficiently utilize technology in the practice of pharmacy. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelors in Pharmacy or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy required. Completion of an accredited ASHP Residency Program required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital pharmacy in a clinical pharmacy role required. Must meet the Residency Program Director eligibility, qualifications, and responsibilities as outlined in the ASHP Residency Accreditation Standards. Experience in a pharmacy leadership role preferred. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Licensure as a registered pharmacist in Montana required. Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties certification required. Teaching certification preferred. . Aptitudes: Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and use time wisely.
