Your Role and Responsibilities

THIS POSITION IS FOR A CO'OP THE IDEAL DURATION WILL BE JANUARY THROUGH MID-AUGUST OR MID-MAY THROUGH DECEMBER FULL TIME. [THIS WOULD REQUIRE YOU TO TAKE A SEMESTER OFF OF SCHOOL] HOWEVER, PART TIME (20 HOURS) DURING SPRING/FALL 2022 SEMESTERS WHILE WORKING FULL-TIME IN THE SUMMER WILL BE CONSIDERED.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• As an IBM QA/Test Automation Co-op Developer you will work in an agile, collaborative environment to recommend and develop testing standards and application of quality technologies.
• Encourage application development that builds testability in from the ground up.
• Ensures the product is robust and failure scenarios are considered and refactored.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members on story development, from before definition through final deployment.
• Perform exploratory testing using industry leading practices. Discovers defects/bugs and works with coders and Product Owners to determine root cause and how to prevent similar issues from happening in the future.
• Drives adoption of test automation - unit tests, integration tests, functional tests.

These are office based positions in IBM locations including the following. Opportunities in these locations will vary based on demand. Please note, opportunities on the West Coast and NYC are extremely limited.

AZ - Tucson

CA - San Jose

NC - Research Triangle Park

TX - Houston

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Basic knowledge in Python, Ruby and/or Go.
• Basic knowledge/experience in Linux fundamentals and scripting

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Basic knowledge of Chef, Ansible or other configuration management tool
• Basic knowledge of git and git workflows

Location Statement
