    GLOBAL ATLANTIC'S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

    The Global Atlantic offers an immersive 10 week summer internship program that allows students to learn critical skills in a business setting. Our program runs from June 6, 2022 to August 12, 2022. We offer Executive Business Overviews, Networking Challenges, Social Events, interaction with senior leaders, meaningful work and so much more.     POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Statutory Accounting Co-Op intern will join the Des Moines-based Global Atlantic Life and Annuity Finance team to prepare and analyze the statutory financial statements, management reports and related financial statement disclosures. 

    Other interactions include working with the Planning & Analysis, Actuarial, Tax, Legal and Compliance teams. Key responsibilities will include:

    • Refresh P234 daily (Essbase) and 2x a week (NVision)
    • Weekly draft and update team scoreboard
    • Maintain year end actuarial deliverables calendar
    • Blue book filing:
      • Check prior year
      • Review / proofread entire document
      • Prepare / enter schedules as needed
    • Foot / Crossfoot Notes, Annual Statements, Audits
    • Upload entries
    • Input data and perform consistency checks in stat analysis deck
    • Refresh Flux reports
    • Other projects as needed
    • Administrative tasks as needed
    • Excel analyses and ad hoc tasks as needed
  • Qualifications
    • Obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance; May 2023 graduates preferred
    • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions from research and report on findings
    • Strong communication skills, work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability
    • Experience with Excel, PeopleSoft General Ledger, Business Object Enterprise, Hyperion Financial Management and Essbase preferred
