  • Responsibilities

    PRIMARY PURPOSE:

    Responsible to elicit, analyze, document, gather, validate and manage project requirement specifications for new programs/system enhancements, changes to existing programs/systems, workflows and processes. Work closely with business stakeholders to coordinate, facilitate, and participate in project requirement discussions to define and obtain business approval of the defined project needs.  Increase business, system knowledge, and requirement development skills.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Identify project stakeholders and impacted user classes/areas under supervision  
    • Gather requirements from business stakeholders by using requirement elicitation techniques of brainstorming, document analysis, focus groups, interface analysis, interviews, observation, prototyping (storyboarding, navigation flow, screen flows, mock-up) survey/questionnaire, requirement discussions, solicitation of  feedback, review of competitor intel, and research with supervision  
    • Develop detailed requirement specification documents of business systems and user needs, including but not limited to workflow, functional/nonfunctional needs, forms, reports, user-interface design while under supervision
    • Maintain requirement specifications documents and records, checklist, approvals, project time tracking
    • Manage requirements traceability and track requirements changes during project lifecycle
    • Communicate, interact and present business specifications across a large spectrum of business units to gain requirement approval
    • Coordinate with business units by supporting ad-hoc requests for research and requirements
    • Ensure common processes are developed at an enterprise level to include efficiency gains in workflow
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training or work-related experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, organization skills in order to meet customer expectations
    • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with business and technical resources
    • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
    • Effective listening, communication, interaction, discretion, and diplomacy skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships  with individuals at varying levels within the organization
    • Ability to work with others in a team environment
    • Ability to analyze problems and create effective recommendations

    • Demonstrates a general understanding of the insurance industry and organizational relationships of the company

     

    DESIRED SKILLS:

    • Previous Property and Casualty Insurance experience strongly preferred
    • Experience with Microsoft Project and Visio
    • Previous requirement documentation experience strongly preferred
    • Thorough knowledge of numerous states and various product lines including workflow, work processes, procedures and guidelines
    • Ability to understand and translate user needs into business specifications
    • Demonstrates working knowledge of company operating systems and processes including a working knowledge of  the policy administration system
