    The CHANGE MANAGEMENT INTERN (GRADUATE STUDENTS) will be exposed to the Anthem Federal Employee Program (FEP) business model. Interns will be given the opportunity to learn about our business and what role Anthem plays in managing member healthcare benefits as part of the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan (FEHBP). There are several components to our business that the interns will have an opportunity to learn about (Field Services, Operations, Business Solutions, Data Analytics, Finance, and Medical Management).  

     

    Primary responsibilities include supporting:

     

    • Work with organizational leaders to enhance an existing process for managing the intake of work, prioritizing new and existing projects, aligning work to strategic values, determining resources needed to meet delivery timelines, and communicating change initiatives.
    • Review existing processes and documentation to develop a fluid system that supports the adoption of change across the department.
    • Review the department roadmap, strategic initiatives, organizational values, plan policies, work intake process, emerging opportunities, department resources, existing roles and responsibilities, and communication strategies.
    • Complete a SWOT analysis and identify opportunities that enhance project delivery and change adoption
    • Develop documentation that captures suggested roles and responsibilities within a project team
    • Develop a process for capturing ideas/improvements across the department. This process will involve a “feedback loop” with the submitter.

     

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Pursuing a GRADUATE DEGREE in business, public health, public policy, healthcare administration, or other healthcare related field
    • This internship is from June to August and is 40 hours per week
    • Must be enrolled fulltime at an accredited college or university during internship
    • Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements

    • Understanding of the role managed care organizations play in healthcare today - Ability to assess emerging opportunities and develop strategies that align to innovation -               Strong organizational skills -               Understanding of project management frameworks -               Ability to navigate barriers that impede project milestones from being accomplished -               Ability to identify solutions to barriers that impact the achievement of set organizational goals -               Creative thinking -               Understanding of change management -               Ability to lead workgroups and build a strong team committed to accomplishing set objectives -               Strong oral and written communication skills -               Passion for making a difference
