PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Responsible for effectively processing internal and external claim reports that are primarily faxed, emailed, mailed and/or filed online.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers through verbal and written channels
• Identify the customer’s need and respond appropriately and efficiently with a sense of urgency
• Follow established guidelines specific to each claim report or inquiry
• Research, locate, confirm and document appropriate information within multiple systems
• Remain current on constant process and technology updates
• Chat via online channel with customers as requested
• Assist with customer calls as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1+ years of experience in a call center environment
• 1+ years of experience in the insurance industry
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy
• Ability to multi-task (i.e. talking and typing simultaneously)  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic internet skills
• Ability to navigate through multiple systems
• Possess organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrate professional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (i.e. flexible schedule during catastrophe or high volume events)
• High degree of initiative, mature judgment and discretion

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Associates Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
