DESCRIPTION

This Commercial Business Analyst Intern will be responsible for supporting our California Commercial Products team, focusing on various projects related to product medical costs and business processes. The primary focus will be interpreting prepared data, summarizing, and presenting observations, emphasizing business impact. This is not a technical programming role.

This position will be 100% Remote based out of California, with preferred locations being Woodland Hills, Walnut Creek, and Sacramento. Applicants in other states will be considered, but applicants in California or the Pacific Time Zone are preferred. This internship will be 10 weeks, from June 5th – August 11th. This internship will be structured as a full-time, 40 hours per week position.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Review and interpret business reports

• Analyze medical cost trends to determine contributing factors

• Participate in the planning and preparation of materials for meetings

• Present project results and findings in writing and verbally

• Facilitate outreach across several teams to obtain necessary related information

• Create basic project tracking and documentation

• Perform data analysis and interpret said data to translate it for the business

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in a discipline such as Business Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics. Juniors and Seniors are preferred.

• Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.

• Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS, CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCES:

• Excellent Communication skills, experience creating and delivering presentations is preferred

• Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Excellent Public Speaking and Presentation skills

• Candidates with intellectual curiosity, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to both learn and apply knowledge quickly are greatly preferred

• An interest in the healthcare industry is greatly preferred

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $18.68 to $28.02.
